HippHipp! hit like a humor bomb 25 years ago. Now it’s clear that comedians Anders Jansson and Johan Wester are reuniting with a newly written show – and in April 2027 we will see them together in Uppsala for the first time!

About the Performance

For the first time, the two friends Anders Jansson and Johan Wester take their almost cult characters Tiffany Persson, Kajan, Morgan Pålsson and Itzhak out on the road. The new humor show HippHipp Live! premieres at home in Lund in September and will then be played around the country in 2026 and 2027! On April 24 and 25, 2027, Anders and Johan will come to UKK in Uppsala!

“HippHipp Live!” will be very recognizable but definitely not a pure nostalgia trip. There will be standup-like monologues and improvisation mixed with breathtaking dialogues and direct encounters with the audience – a format where the characters not only return, but are also tested in our time. What happens when Tiffany, Kajan and Itzhak are forced to wrestle with everything from dating apps and sleep apnea to grandchildren and activity bracelets?

– It’s a special feeling to bring our characters back to life, but now on stage. We are curious about what has happened to them over the years, and how they relate to the world today. For us, it’s both a fond reunion and a fun experiment. It’s both familiar and completely new at the same time – and the audience gets to go on the journey with us,” says Johan Wester.

– Being back on stage with Johan and our characters feels incredibly fun – like finding my way back to a creative playground. We know that the audience loves the recognition, but the unique thing is that we can create something new together every night – in the moment, in front of the audience,” says Anders Jansson.

Started new humorera in Sweden

When the humor program “HippHipp!” premiered on SVT in the fall of 2001, it marked the start of a new era in Swedish humor. With characters such as Staffanstorp’s pride Tiffany Persson, fire trainer Kaj-Åke Kajan Hansson, musicologist Itzhak Skenström, presenter Mike Higgins and world reporter Morgan Pålsson, Johan and Anders mixed sketches with popular recognition, unexpected ideas and satire. The series became hugely popular and established the comedians as some of Sweden’s funniest.

Despite its great success, “HippHipp!” has never actually toured Sweden. Next year – 25 years after the breakthrough – it’s finally time! In the fall of 2026, it will be the premiere of “HippHipp Live!”, a crackling show that for the first time takes the humor and madness that the audience has come to love HippHipp! for, out on the country’s biggest stages.

– It feels like we are finally opening a present we gave ourselves 25 years ago. We remember what’s in the package, but we don’t really know how it will clash with the present we’re in now. “This will be extremely exciting, not least for us,” says Anders.

– For obvious reasons, many people associate HippHipp! with filmed sketches, but what perhaps not everyone knows is that Anders and I are actually best live. We love to be on stage, show off with each other, create in the moment and take care of the audience. We also get better together,” says Johan.
