About the Performance

Ebba Forsberg returns with new music and an extensive tour program that reaches Uppsala on March 21 next year. With her powerful, honest, and unique voice, she is also releasing a tribute album to Leonard Cohen – one of our time’s greatest songwriters.

First out is the single “Amen” which was released on October 17, 2025. The album follows on February 13, 2026, followed by a major Swedish tour.

Ebba Forsberg has previously released several critically acclaimed albums, including her debut album Been There (1997) and three albums featuring personal interpretations of Dylan, Cohen, and Waits. In spring 2025, she completed the tour Ebba Forsberg Interprets Dylan, Cohen, and Waits – a success with all venues sold out.

“We play with reverence and love. Every contribution is greater than ourselves. It feels meaningful – and sacred,” says Ebba Forsberg.

The album was recorded live in the studio, with the same musicians from the previous successful tour: Ola Gustavsson, Jerker Odelholm, Claes Björklund, Christer Karlsson, and Andreas Dahlbäck, who also produced the album. The translations were done by Mikael Wiehe, who worked with Ebba to preserve Cohen’s poetic power in a new language.

“This is a new era – from seeking love to seeking peace. I hope Cohen would have approved. We carry his words forward, in Swedish, with our voices and our hearts,” says Ebba Forsberg.

With the album and tour, Ebba Forsberg invites both old and new listeners to a musical journey where Cohen’s timeless lyrics meet a new voice and a new era.
