About the Performance
After transforming both London and New York into roaring successes, the award-winning comedy The Play That Goes Wrong comes to Sweden – a tribute to theater’s most beloved nightmare. After the premiere in Stockholm in January, the laughter-guaranteed ensemble sets out on tour, and on Friday, April 10, they’re coming to Uppsala and UKK!
The Plot
Meet an ensemble determined to present elegant 1920s mystery in “Murder at Gammelby Manor.” The plan is crystal clear: a dead nobleman, a collection of suspects, and a detective with everything under control. But from the very first line, everything goes wrong. Sets collapse, doors refuse to open, props disappear, actors faint, and lines get mixed up – until no one, either on stage or in the audience, knows who’s to blame for everything going wrong. A full-scale stage chaos where everything goes wrong – but the murderer is revealed, albeit in a way the audience won’t soon forget. The result is a fast-paced laughter carousel where everyone tries to save the mystery while the show crumbles around them.
Behind this irresistible comedy feast are Lifeline and Picadill – the team that brought you the smash hits with Pernilla Wahlgren’s shows and the outrageously funny Peter Pan Goes Wrong. Now they’re back, ready to serve up another completely insane and catastrophically funny farce – originally created and performed in London’s West End by the British masters of organized chaos, Mischief.
