About the Performance

When ‘Younger’ and ‘Hard Time’ hit, something changed in the international music landscape. It wasn’t just songs that topped the charts – it was a voice that entered the room and took possession of it.

Seinabo Sey’s deep, soulful sound carried both authority and fragility, a poise and a confidence that felt inevitable. In retrospect, it’s hard to imagine that it could have gone any other way.

Yet it became clear early on that the confines of commercial pop were too narrow. Seinabo Sey has always navigated by a different compass, and on the album “The One After Me” it became clearer than ever. The tempo was slowed down, the voice was allowed to float in a more meditative space, and the soundscape opened up to something bigger than the present: nods to Swedish folk music, a crank that emerged from the fog, and melodies that unfolded slowly, as if they were searching for a different kind of truth than the immediate one.
It was an album that dared to remain in the unfinished, in the cosmic search, in the space between then and now.

Seinabo Sey is releasing her fourth album, ‘Welcome Home’ – her most personal and poetic work to date. For the first time, she sings exclusively in Swedish. A choice of language that some might perceive as risky, but which for her is rather a deepening. A way of getting closer to what she actually wants to describe, to unravel the words in her own everyday language and let the vision permeate every detail of the production.

Through the singles “Find Someone”, “Castle of Air”, “The Gods”, “Crazy” and “Yasin’s Prayer”, the world of the album begins to emerge – a place where the landscape of childhood meets the longing of adulthood and where her voice, one of the most beautiful instruments we have, is allowed to fully unfold.

This fall, she will embark on an extensive concert hall tour with a premiere in Copenhagen – a tour that puts her where she has always belonged: in the middle of the room. On Friday, December 3, she will finally return to UKK.
“After many years of touring, I now have more music than ever. I’m really looking forward to weaving my catalog together with my new Swedish album and giving you a picture of what my everyday life looks like.

Together with some incredible musicians, I look forward to bringing you a tour I’ve been looking forward to for a long time!”, says Seinabo about the upcoming tour.
