About the Event

SHE is a festival day and meeting place where all women’s struggle, art, knowledge and culture take place – in and around a boxing ring at UKK!

Together with Bodil Frick, the Uppsala-based former Swedish Thai boxing champion, we invite you to a program filled with exciting, fun and important activities – by, with and about women.

Bodil Frick is a strong force in Uppsala, who is passionate about empowering young girls through training, self-esteem and community.

Program

Thai boxing matches – prominent fighters meet in the ring!

Keisha live on stage – Keisha is a young artist from Uppsala with Swedish-Kenyan roots, who mixes pop, R&B, soul and jazz with big emotions and a voice that takes its place. On stage, she moves between vulnerability, power and humor – “big hair, big feelings”. She has also built a strong presence on TikTok, where her clips have been widely shared and gathered a rapidly growing audience.

Design Market – female artists and craftspeople exhibit and sell their work and products.

Pop-up exhibition: “The road to abortion” – an exhibition on rights, struggles and choices from Stockholm Women’s History Museum, a traveling museum linking women’s history to current issues affecting people’s daily lives.

Lecture: “Sinful women – singled out, punished and acquitted in Uppsala’s history” – with women’s historian and author Mia Skott.

Lecture: “Leadership from a female perspective” – lecture with Annika Hellström, Head of Risk Control within Swedbank Swedish Banking and Premium & Private Banking.

Lecture with Maria Broberg, songwriter and artist with extensive experience from the Eurovision Song Contest.

Meditation & Poetry – Edith Södergran’s poems are interwoven with music and guided sitting exercises in a session that helps us find both strength and peace. No prior knowledge is needed – just curiosity. The session is led by Isabel Petrini, psychologist and author.

Roses of Ties – creative workshop with Ukrainian women. Fold roses to wear close to the heart, of ties from those we miss.

Workshops and exhibitions – with women’s shelters and organizations

The restaurant, café and bar are open all afternoon with a DJ playing!

SHE is for those who want to be inspired, challenged, experience and celebrate all women – together.
Bring a friend, stay all day or drop in.
