High Security Level
The security level at Uppsala Concert & Congress is high to create a safe environment for guests and staff, as well as to protect property. The security work includes systematic fire protection efforts involving training programs for staff, preventive routines and action plans, and a well-functioning evacuation organization.
Evacuation
Evacuation possibilities are good as the building is equipped with five independent stairwells. The stairwells are accessible from all floors. Evacuation routes are signposted and can withstand smoke and heat for at least one hour.
The building is equipped with a spoken evacuation alarm in Swedish and English. There are also visual alarms in the form of strobe lights to assist guests with hearing impairments, for example. Office areas and staff spaces are equipped with evacuation bells.
Safe Evacuation from Balcony
In case of evacuation from the balconies, special evacuation doors open, leading to the evacuation stairwells. Both the width of the evacuation doors and the stairwells meet the requirements for safely evacuating the balcony. The evacuation doors are located next to the entrance/exit doors to/from the balcony and are marked for evacuation.
Fire System
The building also has several technical systems to prevent the occurrence of fire and to minimize damage resulting from fire. This includes warning systems in the form of smoke and heat detectors, sprinklers, smoke ventilation, and other extinguishing equipment.
Inspections
Uppsala Concert & Congress regularly tests the fire protection organization and the technical systems.
