About the Performance

Singers Johan Boding and Jonas Gideon are two close friends who have made a huge success with their joint show Elton John meets Freddie Mercury! After sold-out concert halls and tributes from the audience that never want to end, it is now clear that the duo with their fantastic band will make a big Sweden tour in the fall of 2026 – and on October 30 you can see this musical highlight here at UKK!

You will be treated to a unique concert experience as they, together with some of Sweden’s leading musicians, interpret Elton John’s and Freddie Mercury’s impressive song treasures in a crackling and visual show. It is guaranteed to be an experience beyond the ordinary!

Elton John and Freddie Mercury met in the 1970s at the height of their careers, and a deep respect and friendship was born between the two superstars. But unfortunately, they didn’t do much together on stage and musically. That’s what Johan and Jonas now want to create – what could a musical meeting between these two giants look like?

Johan Boding is definitely one of Sweden’s most talented singers, with a voice that touches you deeply. He has toured all over the world, mainly in arena shows paying tribute to Freddie Mercury and Queen, but also in successful productions such as “Thank you for the music”, “Sol vind och vatten” and “Den Svenska Sångboken”. Johan has also done a number of Rhapsody in Rock, and as a musical star we have seen him in “Miss Saigon” and “Jesus Christ Superstar”.

Jonas Gideon is a Swedish musician, singer and pianist, whose passion for music began in childhood. At the age of eight, he started playing Elton John’s songs on the piano, which laid the foundation for his musical career. A defining moment came in 1998 when he met Elton John by chance before a concert at Ullevi in Gothenburg. This meeting inspired him to learn almost 200 of Elton’s songs and to see him live 14 times! After 20 years as a musician, in 2023 he launched “A True Elton John Tribute”, a tribute show that quickly became a success with sold-out performances and rave reviews. During his career, Jonas has collaborated with many of Sweden’s top artists, including Carola, Molly Sandén, Jennifer Brown, Victor Norén and Janne Schaffer.
