A tribute to Monica Zetterlund with singer Frida Öhrn and pianist Carl Bagge – filled with humor, presence and musical brilliance.

She was the queen of jazz, the actress with a twinkle in her eye and a voice that could be both silky smooth and sharp as a needle. Monica Zetterlund – one of Sweden’s greatest and most beloved artists of all time. Her music, humor, and unique expression have forever inscribed her in the Swedish soul.

In Simple, Beautiful, Tender – A Tribute to Monica Z, Frida Öhrn together with Carl Bagge pays homage to Monica’s life, artistry, and timeless songbook. You are invited to a warm and swinging musical journey through Monica’s world – from collaborations with Hasse & Tage, Beppe Wolgers, and Povel Ramel, to the magical encounters with Bill Evans that took her all the way to New York’s jazz clubs.

It will be a moment filled with humor, presence, and musical brilliance, where several of Monica’s original arrangements have been retrieved from the archives. Arrangements written by Lasse Bagge, who played with Monica for many years – and which now come to life again in the hands of his son Carl Bagge.

Simple, Beautiful, Tender is a loving tribute to an icon – and a reminder of how timeless Monica Zetterlund’s voice and music still are.
