Torleif Thedéen, one of the most prominent instrumentalists in the world, will perform his favorite works together with his musician friends during the six concerts of the season! The first concert of the season will feature music for cello and piano with Per Lundberg at the piano. This will be followed by a public masterclass with future chamber musicians.
Public masterclass
Through a public masterclass, the series also has a significant role for Sweden’s future chamber musicians. After the break, the audience will follow Torleif and Per as he teaches cello students from higher education.
The result of this public masterclass will be performed at the concert on January 24, 2027. Thedéen is a well-known and highly regarded pedagogue and visiting professor of cello at the Royal College of Music in London and professor at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo.
Professor and pianist
Per Lundberg is a soloist and chamber musician originally from Stockholm but grew up in Norrköping. After graduating as a soloist from the Vienna Academy of Music in 1985, he has played with both national and international ensembles and orchestras.
Lundberg was the first to perform Lutoslawski’s piano concerto in Sweden with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra and is active in two renowned ensembles, Trio Poseidon and Duo Leonore. He is a professor of piano and chamber music, has taught for almost 40 years at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm and has a great commitment to meeting and inspiring young musicians.
Torleif Thedéen c/o Musik i Uppland
Swedish cellist Torleif Thedéen is one of the most prominent instrumentalists in the world, with an international career as a soloist, recording artist and educator. In a career spanning four decades, Torleif has performed with some of the world’s greatest musicians, orchestras and conductors and won first prize in several international cello competitions. Now he invites chamber music stars from Sweden and abroad to play with him in the 2026/2027 season of Poste Restante.
