As production manager, you are part of a team consisting of a production manager, two producers and another production manager. The department works closely with the business in all parts and, together with UKK’s CEO and artistic director, forms the company’s program department.

Most of your working hours will be during the day, but you will often be required to be on site during events – i.e. evenings and weekends.

Description of tasks

Your main task is to do production work around concerts and other bookings. You play a crucial role in the pre-production phase where you gather information from all parties, coordinate our internal competencies and create the conditions for everyone to do their jobs as well as possible with the goal of implementing well-planned, resource-efficient and fantastic events! For example, your tasks may include…

  • Coordinate and plan the company’s resources and competences to achieve the best possible results in each program.
  • Ensure that we receive information from visiting productions about technical and stage needs, catering, dressing rooms and much more.
  • Book travel and hotels for performers and artists.
  • Entering internal orders in our business system.
  • Develop the basis for ticket release.
  • Prepare cost estimates and contract proposals.
  • Be the contact person for organizers and external partners.
  • Prepare program proposals for production decisions.
  • Participate in the joint work of the Program Department.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have experience of administrative work in a similar role as a production manager or equivalent, preferably in combination with work “behind the scenes” in music, culture or other artistic activities. You have worked in activities with a focus on visitors, ticket buyers and audiences and have experience of production planning, project management, coordination or organizing. You have good knowledge of Uppsala and the city’s cultural life and a well-established network in the music and culture industry. Furthermore, you have a great interest in and understanding of different music genres, international music and different subcultures. You need basic knowledge of Excel. Good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English in both speech and writing is a prerequisite for the position.

It is advantageous if you have training in project management, event production, event, organizing or equivalent, as well as training in economics, marketing, communication or other relevant focus. We also look favorably on experience of working in room booking systems, business systems and / or various planning tools, especially Office 365 and Yesplan. Furthermore, it is a merit if you have good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in more languages than Swedish and English.
