About the Performance

On September 8, to coincide with her 60th birthday, Carola Häggkvist is releasing her first book. In her autobiography, *I Am Carola*, which chronicles her upbringing and her life up to 2002, Carola tells her own story for the very first time. As an extension of the book launch, it has now been confirmed that she will also embark on an extensive tour of the Nordic countries this fall to meet her fans.

Together with pianist Will Oaks, Carola will give over 30 concerts in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland, and the Faroe Islands, with her debut book taking center stage. As she shares, through music and storytelling, the songs and events that have shaped her, she describes the experience as both “intimate and personal, but above all very exclusive” when she performs songs that you might not usually hear at a Carola concert—such as “Krokodilbarnets längtan” and “If I Can Dream” by Elvis Presley, interspersed with her biggest hits such as “Främling,” “Säg mig var du står,” and “Fångad av en stormvind.”

For over four decades, Carola has been one of Sweden’s undisputed biggest stars. Since her
sensational breakthrough with “Främling” in 1983, she has become an integral part of Sweden’s
cultural heritage and has lived her life in the public eye ever since. Now she opens the door
to a life long portrayed by others—and shares her own story of the person behind the artist in an intimate and exclusive concert experience.
