About the Performance

For some, it’s easy. They move confidently through the world, wearing stylish sneakers, in complete control. For others, it’s harder. Their bodies feel clumsy, their movements come out of order, and every whisper in the room is picked up by their keen ears.

*Avig* is an acclaimed dance performance for the whole family about fitting in—in one’s own body, within a group, and in the world. With humor, precision, and a powerful physical presence, it portrays the feeling of being a little out of place—and the joy of discovering that maybe that’s perfectly okay.

The production premiered at Dansens Hus in 2024 and was awarded the Swedish Theater Critics’ Prize for Children and Youth. With playful sound design, eye-catching props, and nods to classical ballet, the dance company TUBO & Co. has danced straight into the hearts of the audience.

Behind the company are the dancing composers Tobias Ulfvebrand and Hugo Therkelson. Together with director Martin Hasselgren, they have created a lavish work of total art filled with familiarity, warmth, and the joy of movement.
Recommended for ages 6 and up.
