About the Performance

The Swedish success group Grymlings makes a sensational comeback 35 years after their breakthrough. The group was formed by rock icon Mikael Rickfors, and was named after his farm in Gotland.

“It feels fantastic to go out and play these songs again, it’s something I’m really looking forward to. It will also be a way for us to remember and honor our departed members Magnus Lindberg and Pugh Rogefeldt,” says Mikael Rickfors, singer, songwriter, and founder of Grymlings.

Grymlings’ big breakthrough came with the song “Mitt bästa för dig” (My Best for You), which stayed on Svensktoppen for 23 weeks, including 14 weeks at number one. The band’s second single, “Där gullvivan blommar” (Where the Cowslip Blooms), also became a major hit and contributed to their self-titled debut album selling an impressive 170,000 copies. In 1992, the follow-up Grymlings II was released, and it also became a great success with high positions on the album chart. The songs “En glädjesång” (A Song of Joy) and “Väntar på en vän” (Waiting for a Friend) made it onto Svensktoppen.

The first lineup of Grymlings included Pugh Rogefeldt, Magnus Lindberg, and Göran Lagerberg. As the group now hits the road again, both Rogefeldt and Lindberg have long since passed away, and are replaced by the group’s producer Lasse Lindbom and the Scanian rock legend** Dan Hylander**. On the new tour, titled “The Best for You,” the members of Grymlings will perform not only the band’s most beloved songs but also their biggest hits as solo artists. This includes classics such as Rickfors’ “Vingar” (Wings), “När stormen river öppet hav” (When the Storm Tears Open Sea), Hylander’s “Svart kaffe” (Black Coffee), “Farväl till Katalonien” (Farewell to Catalonia) and “Skuggor i skymningen” (Shadows at Dusk), Lagerberg’s “Every Raindrop Means a Lot” (from his time in Tages), and Lindbom’s “Kom och värm dej” (Come and Warm Yourself) and “Tänd ett ljus” (Light a Candle).
