About the Performance
In February 2027, it’s time for the musical concert No Business Like Show Business to come to Uppsala Konsert & Kongress, and it will be an afternoon filled with great emotions, quick turns, humor and warmth.
On stage are Rickard Söderberg, Malena Ernman, Johan Hwatz, Kim Bergkvist, Fredrik Sjöstedt and Kristina Hahne, six strong stage personalities with clear expressions and great presence. Together they create a concert where it’s not just about singing beautifully, but about telling stories, landing in the text and letting each number have its own tone and color. There is both power, playfulness and that fingertip feeling that makes a salon really listen.
The artists alternate between solos, where each person’s individuality is given space, and ensemble numbers, where the interplay is the driving force. With choreography, dance and tap, the concert gains additional energy and movement, and the expression becomes as visual as musical. When voices, rhythms and stage presence meet, the dynamics are turned up and create a dense, generous and vibrant stage space, just as musicals should feel.
Between songs, the artists share small stories and glimpses of life on and behind the scenes. This gives the concert a personal tone and a warm appeal, bringing the audience closer to both the music and the people in it.
The concert moves freely through the history of musicals: well-known classics are mixed with newer songs that surprise and feel here and now. Audiences will hear songs from Chess, Les Misérables, Jesus Christ Superstar, As if in Heaven, We Will Rock You, Joyride, Sweeney Todd, Rent, Phantom of the Opera, as well as other gems from ‘narrower’ musicals. As well as a brand new musical that has not yet been performed.
It will be a mix of quiet moments, grand ensemble numbers and fast-paced elements with dance and tap, as a really good musical concert should be.
