About the Performance

One of Sweden’s most beautiful voices and most distinctive artists comes to Uppsala Konsert & Kongress with her tribute to the American singer-songwriter, poet and indie pop queen Lana Del Rey.

Behind the stage name Moto Boy is Oskar Humlebo, known for his dreamy sound and distinctive falsetto. Since his debut in 2008, he has established himself as something of a unicorn on the Swedish music scene and has been described as “the romantic with the incomparable voice”.

Moto Boy has performed with symphony orchestras, appeared in opera and theater productions, and opened for Whitney Houston, The Smashing Pumpkins and Suede, among others. Alongside his solo project, he has also been the guitarist for The Cardigans and The Ark.

When Moto Boy now comes to Uppsala, he does so together with Pikko (Petra Fors) on synths and choir vocals and a selection of Lana Del Rey’s songs in personal and close arrangements in a stripped-down but passionate tribute to one of the most influential artists of our time.

– “Since Elisabeth Fraser, she is the artist and singer who has affected me most deeply, and I have followed her amazing career since ‘Video Games’ had a few thousand views on Youtube,” says Oskar Humlebo about the artist who has been called a “sad-girl icon”.

In the fall of 2024, Moto Boy released the acclaimed album “Drown out the noise”. Last year, he performed four sold-out tribute concerts to Lana Del Rey with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra at Berwaldhallen in Stockholm.

Throughout Moto Boy’s oeuvre is the distinctive sound, melodies and unique voice, a blend of sacred choir, synthpop and almost jazz-influenced guitar playing.

At UKK, an intimate and atmospheric evening awaits where Lana Del Rey’s melancholic universe is filtered through Moto Boy’s personal expression and strong musicality.
