About the Performance

It is with great joy and pride that the Swedish Salsa Federation presents the fifth edition of the Salsals Dambora Festival, which will take place at Uppsala Konsert & Kongress.

At a time marked by the Taliban’s restrictions on Afghan women’s voices and the destruction of over 21,000 musical instruments, we stand unwavering in our fight against oppression and celebrate women’s rights, equality, and our passion for music, literature, and culture.

The festival will serve as a platform for many talented artists from various European countries.
These artists will perform their songs and share their stories with us and alongside us. Through music, literature, and culture, we want to emphasize that people’s voices cannot be silenced and that all of our rights are inalienable.

Hazara folk music is a fundamental part of our members’ identity and culture. It carries stories that reflect our people’s history, our traditions, and our aspirations. Through this festival, we aim not only to celebrate cultural rights but also to highlight the rich musical tradition that characterizes the Hazara people.

We look forward to an inspiring evening filled with our folk music, where you’ll have the opportunity to experience the power and beauty of our culture. This will be a memorable festival, where we stand together in support of gender equality and human rights.

An inspiring evening celebrating the folk music and culture of the Khazars—and human rights.

Presented by the Salsal Association of Sweden in collaboration with Uppsala Konsert & Kongress.
