About the Performance
In *InTension*, we encounter Rebecca Livaniou in a physical monologue where movement is constantly seeking new directions. Drawing on her experiences from the hip-hop battle scene, she explores the tension between power and hesitation, control and uncertainty. Here, there is no opponent to defeat—instead, the struggle is about her own doubts and about daring to take her place, both in front of others and in front of herself.
Rebecca Livaniou has danced in works by Cullberg and choreographer Lisa Janbell, among others. InTension is her first solo stage production and was created in close collaboration with music producer Kevin Wedin/12Twelve, costume designer Amanda Wisselgren, and lighting designer Thabiso Kubheka Persson. Together, they create an ever-changing space where dance, music, costumes, and lighting enhance the shifting moods.
InTension is a collaboration between Riksteatern and Rebecca Livaniou, with support from the Swedish Arts Council.
