About the Performance

Following the tremendous success across Europe, from Germany to Italy, from Portugal to Bulgaria, the legendary orchestra Lords of the Sound is finally coming to Sweden with their spectacular show The Music of Hans Zimmer.

Film scores from Dune, Pirates of the Caribbean, Spider-Man 2, Sherlock Holmes, Madagascar, Interstellar, The Da Vinci Code, Pearl Harbor, Gladiator, Mission: Impossible, Inception, Call of Duty and many other hits by the legendary Hans Zimmer are played by the famous Lords of the Sound orchestra.

Hans Zimmer is a German film composer whose success began with the cult film Rain Man. Hans recalls: “When I was composing the music for Rain Man, I thought I would do my best not to drown out the characters. I wanted to stay away from the foreground. Raymond, the main character in the film, has difficulty understanding where he is. He sees a different world, a world that does not look like ours. Why not create music for a world that exists only in his head?”

The music for Rain Man, for which Zimmer was nominated for an Oscar, became a real breakthrough in his career. Hollywood’s finest directors were eager to work with him. His music became so sought after that he often ended up composing music for two or three films simultaneously. Walt Disney Pictures chose him as composer for The Lion King, which resulted in Zimmer being awarded an Oscar, Golden Globe, and Grammy. Since then, Zimmer has received many prestigious awards and is considered one of Hollywood’s finest film composers. It is rare that he is not nominated for an Oscar.
