Light Art at UKK and Vaksala Square
To Those Who Wait
The facade of Uppsala Konsert & Kongress has been transformed into an interactive game board. Lasers and sound guide you through the game board’s levels. To move forward, you’ll need patience, teamwork, and the ability to press the button at exactly the right moment.
The light installation *To Those Who Wait* by Smash Studio plays with people’s expectations and explores what happens when we allow something to unfold without constantly intervening. To succeed, we need to read each other, hold back our own impulses, and sometimes accept that the shared result will take longer than we’d like.
Smash Studio
Smash Studio was founded by Ash and Veronica Reed, a duo who work with 3D art, design, and technology. In their installations, they explore the intersection of the digital and physical worlds and create experiences that evoke emotions and spark curiosity. Through their work, they push the boundaries of what art and technology can achieve together.

Complex Dimensions and Reflections
At Vaksala Square, Uppsala artist Svante Pettersson has created a light sculpture consisting of six mirror-clad monoliths. The surfaces reflect the surroundings, allowing architecture, people, and the sky to become part of the work. The appearance changes in response to the light and the viewer’s movements, and as darkness falls, the integrated lighting adds new perspectives and reflections.
