About the Performance
Bach Jazz transforms Johann Sebastian Bach’s music into cohesive pieces for piano, double bass, and drums. With melody at the center and plenty of room for improvisation, the trio moves between the delicate and the swinging, the familiar and the unexpected. The music has drawn comparisons to Jan Johansson’s approach to blending jazz with a Nordic musical language—and the trio’s concerts throughout Sweden have been warmly received.
Since their debut album in 2024, Bach Jazz has continued to explore Bach’s music with curiosity and great respect for the originals. In the spring of 2026, their second album was released, which went straight to number one on the Swedish jazz charts. The repertoire ranges from the Goldberg Variations to lullabies and more unexpected excursions into Bach’s musical universe. At Jazzhörnan, a melodic and heartfelt evening awaits, featuring focused ensemble playing, spontaneous moments, and a swing that brings Bach straight into the present.

After the concert, the stage is open for a jam session led by a trio from Uppsala Jazzclub.
