About the Performance
Flamenco artist Rosario La Tremendita is in a constant search for new sound worlds and artistic expressions. With a unique voice and a tonal ability to cross musical boundaries, she is considered one of the most innovative musicians in Spanish flamenco.
Born in the heart of Seville’s Triana neighborhood, La Tremendita has the tradition in her blood since childhood. For over three decades, this singer, composer, producer and instrumentalist has been innovating the genre.
Blending traditional flamenco with electronic music, jazz and rock, La Tremendita’s music bridges the past and the future. She has revived the original cante jondo, the oldest form of flamenco singing, characterized by deep darkness and melancholy, but also strong love.
La Tremendita’s visit to Sweden coincides with the launch of Tremenda Origen – a fiery return to the roots of flamenco. Joining her on stage is bassist and guitarist Juanfe Pérez, who has made a name for himself for giving the electric bass a new role in flamenco. Javi Rabadán, backs her up with drums and percussion.
This is certainly a concert to look forward to. With a new take on classical flamenco, La Tremendita brings fresh blood to the genre and gives it an obvious contemporary relevance.
