About the Event
On August 30, Vaksala Square in Uppsala will be filled with play, activity, and fun as Pelle Svanslös Day hosts a big, free family festival for children of all ages. With Pelle Svanslös and his friends taking center stage, a day filled with activities, stage performances, and adventures awaits—all with a focus on traffic, physical activity, and the environment. Here, you’ll find Pelle’s Traffic World, Maja’s Movement World, and Elaka Måns’s Environmental World. Explore these worlds at your own pace. Try things out, learn, play, and have fun with your family!

Program
11:00 a.m. Maja Gräddnos kicks off the day!
Uppsala artist “ako” takes the stage as Maja Gräddnos and welcomes all the children and families to Pelle Svanslös Day. Then it’s time to discover everything that’s happening at Vaksala Square!
11:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. Pelle’s Traffic World
The Trafikatter are coming to Uppsala!
Discover Pelle’s Traffic Trail, try the bike obstacle course, visit the reflector tent, and learn more about how to stay safe in traffic.

Ambulance on the scene
Get up close to a real ambulance and meet Sara, who will show you how an ambulance works and talk about her job. The children will have the chance to take a peek inside, ask questions, and learn more about the ambulance and how it’s used on the road.
Throughout the day, there will also be ongoing interviews and appearances from the stage. Ako will meet some of the people who are helping to make the day possible—including ambulance personnel and other exciting guests.

11:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. Maja’s World of Movement
Get moving with Maja!
Try gymnastics and other fun physical activities with GCF Uppsala. There will also be group exercise sessions on stage that all children can join.
11:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. Elaka Måns’s World of the Environment
Help Måns save the environment!
Become a recycling hero and help Måns learn how to sort waste properly. Through play and a simple mission, children can discover more about waste sorting and recycling.
“Elaka Måns’s World of the Environment” is presented by Uppsalahem and Returpappercentralen.
12:00 p.m. Sing-along with Maja Gräddnos
“ako” transforms into Maja Gräddnos and invites all the children to sing and join in the sing-along from the stage. Sing, dance, and have fun with Maja!
2:00 p.m. Sing-along with Maja Gräddnos
It’s time for another sing-along with Maja Gräddnos and “ako.” All children are welcome to join in!

Food & Drink
Hungry after all the day’s adventures? Take a break and refuel with something delicious! UKK’s restaurant and café are open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., with lunch served from11a.m. to 2 p.m.
Lunch Menu (11 a.m.–2p.m.)
Pancake Buffet – Ages 0–5: 65 SEK, Ages 6–12: 125 SEK, Adults: 165 SEK
Slow-roasted leg of lamb – 155 SEK
Served with potato gratin, Brussels sprouts, and chanterelle sauce.
UKK’s Green Burger – 160 SEK
A crispy vegan burger in a potato bun with caramelized onions, chipotle mayonnaise, pickled green tomatoes, fries, and homemade ketchup.
Coffee and pastries are served all day long.
There are also refreshments available from the Vaksala SK kiosk and several food trucks at Vaksala Square.
