About the call
Welcome to a conversation with the Swedish Institute’s Deputy Director General Anna Rudels about the image of Sweden in a time of crisis and geopolitical unrest. How is the image of Sweden shaped abroad – and why does it matter so much?
The conversation revolves around the role of culture as resilience in crises and wars, and how Sweden’s “soft power” contributes to international impact and trust. With a particular focus on culture and creative industries, the discussion will focus on how the image of Sweden affects the success of Swedish actors – both globally and at home – in business, industry and the creative ecosystem.
An in-depth look at how culture, values and the story of Sweden are linked to competitiveness, attractiveness and long-term national success.
Discussion leader and moderator: Henrik Lillsjö, UKK’s CEO and artistic director
The present – a seminar series that takes the temperature of our time
With the seminar series Samtiden, UKK wants to reflect and take the temperature of the world we live in right now. We are in a time of rapid change, new power relations, technological leaps and global challenges – and the need to understand our present has rarely been greater.
Samtiden brings together interesting and influential profiles who, in different ways, are at the heart of the most important trends, developments and social issues of our time. Through conversations and in-depth discussions, we shed light on topics such as preparedness and security, artificial intelligence, politics and democracy, climate and sustainability – as well as the power of culture and the importance of culture-driven urban development in a changing society.
The seminar series is an arena for insight, reflection and dialog. It gives the audience the opportunity to both understand the major movements in the present and take part in concrete perspectives on how we can face the future. Contemporary is not just a series of conversations – it is a forum for jointly orienting ourselves in the times we live in.
