About the Festival
From October 19–25, the Uppsala Short Film Festival will celebrate its 45th edition, and from October 23–25, UKK will join in welcoming film lovers to one of Uppsala’s major cultural events. A wide selection of short films awaits, featuring both international perspectives and something interesting for all ages. On the big screen, you’ll find Ukrainian stories of life and resilience, dark fantasy worlds, ultra-short films, and some of the festival’s most acclaimed entries. For younger visitors, there will also be two family screenings with free admission.
Uppsala Short Film Festival
For more than four decades, the Uppsala Short Film Festival has put Uppsala on the international film map. The festival is recognized by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, BAFTA, and the European Film Academy, and several of its competitions can pave the way to some of the film world’s most prestigious awards. As a proud part of this year’s festival, UKK looks forward to welcoming the Uppsala audience to three days showcasing the breadth of short film—from the very shortest stories to films that continue to move viewers long after the credits roll.
