About Pride

During Pride, which will be held this year on Saturday, September 26, UKK will be filled with a variety of experiences to suit every taste and sense. There will be something for everyone!

Program

Floor 6

Queera’s Closet

They’re back again, yaaay!!! Here you can try on different clothes and take them home for free, thanks to Queer Aid’s continued hard work.

Artist Alley

Artist Alley is new this year, so be sure to head up there, check out what’s on offer, maybe buy something nice and unique, and support the exhibitors and vendors there.

The Library Bike

Uppsala Library’s bike, loaded with plenty of great reads, will be here on this floor again this year. Would you like to borrow a book during the day to sit and read while enjoying the view? If so, we recommend stopping by. Just remember to return the book before you head home!

RFSL Uppsala’s Coffee Table

More info to come!

Floor 3

The Large Information Forum

Here you’ll find the vast majority of information tables (infotables) staffed by various groups who are eager to tell you about their queer-focused work and organizations.

Game Room

The Game Room is back again this year! Game Room—the best thing that happens when geek culture meets queer culture.

RFSL Uppsala – Upper Information Desk

Here you can check out all the different activities and groups that RFSL Uppsala offers. Pick up free condoms! (16+) And while you’re there, be sure to become a member of RFSL Uppsala. That way, you’ll be supporting our ongoing work to promote equal rights for queer people in society.

STI Testing

STI Testing will be there again, so be sure to keep an eye out for it.

Level 2 (ground floor)

RFSL Uppsala – the lower information table

Here you’ll find information about where various things are located in the building; you can ask what time something is open until and get directions on where to go.

Pride Merch

Be sure to stop by our merch table and pick up something really cool. Plus—when you buy our merch, you’re helping to support Uppsala Pride! All proceeds go directly back into the work for next year’s Pride.

Makeup Station

More info to come!

Information Desk

You’ll also find information desks on this floor, so be sure to check them out, too. This is usually where you’ll find the youth and craft corners, with fun activities for kids of all ages.

The Stage (separate program)

There will be all kinds of different events here throughout Pride, from the moment we open our doors until the wee hours of the morning.

In the evening, the entire Sal D is transformed into a huge drag show, followed by the afterparty!

Please note that starting at 8:00 p.m., admission to Pride House is by pre-purchased ticket only (18+).

Subject to change.

After-party

This year, the big event is the Drag Show! We hope to see a wonderful mix of drag kings and drag queens on stage, performing a variety of acts you won’t want to miss!

Times

Pride House closes at 19.00. After half an hour, at 7:30 p.m., UKK will reopen for the afterparty, which will take place in Hall D! We’ll be staying on the second floor; the other floors will be closed for the rest of the evening.

Please note that from 8:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m., admission is by pre-purchased ticket only, and there is an age restriction (18+).

Why is there an admission fee?

Please keep in mind that the ticket price goes toward Uppsala Pride’s ongoing efforts to organize these Pride events. Since it’s free in Uppsala to set up an information table or booth, participate in the parade, or perform as an artist in Artist Alley, the organization needs—in addition to an increased number of members—to generate some income from somewhere. When you purchase a ticket, you’re not only supporting the amazing artists you’ll see on stage, but you’re also supporting the entire Pride community in the Uppsala region. Thank you for your contribution! Happy Pride!

Beverages

UKK will open several bars serving everything from beer and wine to Pride-themed drinks with beautiful decorations in the glasses.

Other Information

Overstimulated?

It’s easy to get lost when there are a lot of people and it’s noisy. In that case, head to Level 7. You can only get there by elevator, but don’t worry—there will be a volunteer stationed by the elevator who can show you how to get there.

On the 7th floor, we have our chill-out room. It’s a room with slightly dimmer lighting and cozy seating—a calmer, quieter space for anyone who needs it. If you’re feeling overstimulated, you can come here for a while to recharge.

In the Chill-Out Room, we ask that you refrain from any kind of running or rowdiness, as this space is primarily intended for those who want and need to take it easy. We ask all guests to please speak in a quiet tone and respect each other’s different needs and boundaries. If you’d like to talk a bit more freely, there are plenty of other places around the house where you can do so.

Accessibility

We at RFSL Uppsala are working to make it as welcoming and easy as possible for as many people as possible to attend our event.

There is a wheelchair-accessible restroom on every floor, and you can easily travel between floors using the elevator. UKK has two entrances. There is a ramp leading up to the entrance on Storgatan and at the entrance on Vaksala torg.

There are wheelchair-accessible seats available for the after-party!

Wheelchair-accessible seating is available at all UKK venues. These tickets cannot be purchased through the online store but must be reserved through the box office to ensure that the seats are set aside for visitors who need them. Contact the box office at biljettkassa@ukk.se or by phone at 018-727 90 00.

Accompanying persons can come free of charge subject to availability, but require a ticket – accompanying person tickets are also booked via the ticket office.

Food and Drink

Food and drinks will be available for purchase throughout the Pride House at the UKK restaurant, located on Level 2 (ground floor).

You are NOT allowed to bring lunch boxes or opened packages of food, fruit, snacks, or loose candy.

Cloakroom

One flight of stairs down from the entrance level (Level 1), you’ll find a coat check, lockers, and several restrooms.

The secured coat check costs 30 SEK per person.

Unattended coat check is free.
