About the Event
When the legendary Bosnian ska-Balkan collective Dubioza Kolektiv takes the stage at Vaksala Square, an electrifying concert evening awaits—one with the power to inspire dreams and stir longing.
Since its inception in 2003, Dubioza Kolektiv has grown from a local phenomenon into one of Europe’s most acclaimed live bands. With roots in a Bosnia and Herzegovina shaped by the wars in the former Yugoslavia, they created their own uncompromising sound that blends Balkan music with ska, punk, reggae, rock, hip-hop, and electronic influences.
With a clear do-it-yourself attitude, the band’s music features political satire, sharp portrayals of contemporary life, and irresistible sing-along choruses. Driving percussion, Balkan brass, and ska guitars give Dubioza Kolektiv a sound that is both unique and instantly recognizable.
Over the past two decades, Dubioza Kolektiv has been a hit at Europe’s biggest festivals, including Glastonbury, Roskilde, Lollapalooza, Exit Festival, and Pol’and’Rock.
The audience in Uppsala can look forward to a concert evening where the boundaries between the audience and the stage are blurred. Dubioza Kolektiv delivers a musical extravaganza where the Balkans meet the world—and where the message of community, openness, and humanity runs like a common thread.
More events will be added throughout the evening.
