Marie Larsson Sturdy, artistic director of the dance company Focus Dance, meets UKK’s CEO and artistic director Henrik Lillsjö.

Focus Dance celebrates 30 years of performing arts in 2026, and as part of the anniversary year, the program series Close up talks with people in places that have meant a lot to the business over the years. Uppsala Konsert & Kongress is just such a place, where Focus Dance has staged several world premieres created for the unique environment of the concert hall.

On International Dance Day, which falls on April 29 every year, we meet Henrik Lillsjö in a conversation about democracy, creativity, accessibility of cultural experiences and human encounters. The conversation is based on the overarching theme “across borders – now, then and in the future”. Here we meet both the concert hall manager and the person Henrik Lillsjö, with the keywords PUNK, PASSION and PRODUCTIVITY.
